Unlock a PDF with its known password and keep the original
Understand authorized decryption, wrong-password errors and why a rewritten file does not establish authenticity.

Unlocking is not password recovery
PDF Master Pro's Unlock PDF tool uses a browser-based decryption library to open a supported protected PDF with the required password and produce a decrypted copy. It does not claim password cracking or recovery of an unknown secret. Use it only when you own the document or have permission to process it.
Do not post a password in a support message, a screenshot or a public issue. Keep the protected original separately and consider whether creating an unencrypted copy is appropriate for the intended recipient.
Opening protection and permission settings differ
PDF protection can involve an opening password and restrictions interpreted by readers. Seeing a file in one viewer does not prove that every other tool will accept its encryption or permission settings. Unsupported or damaged inputs can fail even when the password you know is correct.
An error is a reason to inspect the input and workflow, not a request to keep guessing passwords. This site does not verify legal rights to the content or provide a bypass service for documents you are not authorized to use.
A controlled workflow
- Confirm you have permission and obtain the password through an authorized channel.
- Keep the original protected file.
- Open Unlock PDF, select the document and enter its known password when needed.
- Download the successful result under a clear new filename.
- Open the decrypted copy in another reader and check every intended page.
A wrong password should stop the process and produce no successful result. If you receive an error, check the password, input integrity and format. Do not mistake an earlier download from a previous successful operation for the result of the failed attempt.
Protect the new copy
An unlocked document may no longer have the same access barrier as the source. Store it where the intended recipients can access it, and avoid sharing an unnecessarily complete financial or identity record. If a recipient only needs selected pages, use Extract Pages and review the resulting contents before sending them.
The document tools are designed to process selected files locally, but confidentiality also depends on browser extensions, optional third-party scripts and device security. Read the Privacy Policy before using sensitive files on a shared or managed computer.
Check features after rewriting
Decryption or later processing can change the document container. Review forms, attachments, links and navigation if they matter. A document that is now easier to open is not necessarily authentic or unchanged. Existing certificate-based signatures require validation in an appropriate reader; their visible appearance alone is not proof.
If you plan to merge or convert to Word, test a representative page after unlocking. Those operations have their own content and layout limits. Repeatedly transforming a document can make it harder to determine which version is the reference record.
When to contact the issuer
Ask the authorized issuer for an accessible or editable source if the protection format is unsupported or if you need a new official copy. A financial or legal record may have handling rules that make an unencrypted derivative unsuitable for your task.
The useful result is an authorized copy that opens correctly and retains the information you need. It is not a certificate of identity, ownership or document integrity.
