Conversion
JPG and PNG to PDF: page order, dimensions and transparency
Combine supported images into a PDF without mistaking image pages for searchable or editable text.

Each image becomes a PDF page
The image-to-PDF tools place selected JPG/JPEG or PNG images into a PDF. This is useful for a set of scans, photographed notes or screenshots that need to travel as one document. The result remains image-based. It does not acquire selectable text, OCR or an editable Word structure simply because its container is now PDF.
Use JPG to PDF for JPEG inputs, PNG to PDF for PNG inputs, or Images to PDF when mixing the two. Other formats need a suitable prior conversion; changing a filename extension does not change the image encoding.
Check the images before combining them
Inspect each source for orientation, crop, legibility and unintended personal information. The converter does not claim an automatic deskew, perspective correction or document-restoration service. A faint photograph placed on a PDF page remains faint.
Keep the best originals. If you crop or otherwise modify them in another application, save separate working copies so you can recover information that was accidentally removed. Blurring or placing a shape over confidential material is not necessarily secure redaction of an existing editable document.
Put the pages in the intended sequence
- Choose the matching image-to-PDF tool.
- Select the intended files and review the displayed list.
- Confirm the sequence before converting.
- Open the downloaded PDF and compare its page count with the image count.
- Inspect the first, middle and last pages at a readable zoom.
For a synthetic packet containing cover.jpg, page-1.png and page-2.png, confirm that the cover comes first. Filename sorting and browser selection order are not always the same. If the resulting PDF needs a correction, Reorder Pages can change the sequence, but review the correction before discarding an earlier result.
Understand page dimensions
These tools use the image dimensions for the page geometry. They do not automatically produce a standard A4 sheet with photographic margins. A large phone image may therefore result in an unusual PDF page size, even though the viewer scales it to fit the screen.
If a recipient requires a standard paper size, use Resize PDF afterwards and compare its proportional scaling. Resizing geometry is different from improving the image's actual detail. Enlarging a small image does not recover information that was never captured.
JPEG and PNG have different strengths
JPEG is commonly used for photographs and may already contain compression artifacts. The JPG tool embeds the existing JPEG data without an extra canvas recompression step. PNG is suitable for sharp screenshots and can contain transparency; supported transparency is retained by PNG embedding. The appearance of transparent areas can depend on the reader's page background, so inspect the final result where it will be used.
Many large images can consume substantial memory when decoded. Their total compressed file size is not an accurate estimate of the browser's working-memory needs. Use smaller batches if the tab becomes unresponsive.
If you also need text
Use OCR PDF for a recognition workflow after reviewing the image packet. Choose the document language and proofread the recognized text. A searchable PDF is still not automatically an accessible document or a fully structured spreadsheet.
Before sharing, verify that every intended image is present, correctly oriented and readable. Keep the source images if their original resolution, metadata or another future editing task matters.
